Important: The AI Assistant and its features are not connected to a research database. For verified legal research and citations, use Paxton’s Research Tools. Uploaded files must be text-based or OCR-processed to be properly analyzed by Paxton.
You can use the Assistant to analyze uploaded documents or pasted text. Type commands or questions directly into the chat interface.
Here are a few of the many things you can try right now:
Draft a legal document: Example: "Draft a settlement agreement based on the uploaded case files."
Summarize legal texts: Example: "Summarize the key points from this deposition transcript."
Locate specific information: Example: "Highlight every instance where the witness discussed the contract terms."
If the output is incomplete or off-target, refine your prompt to give Paxton clearer instructions or additional information.
The AI Assistant offers three distinct modes, designed to be seamlessly switched based on your workflow needs. If you require a specific tool, dedicated File Analysis and Drafting options are also available in the sidebar.
1. Intelligent Mode: Intelligent Mode is the default setting of the AI Assistant. This mode is designed to automatically determine the best function to use based on your input, whether that’s drafting or analyzing documents. It’s ideal for users who want a streamlined, efficient experience without having to manually switch between different functionalities.
Use Case:
When you input a query or a command, the Assistant assesses the context and decides whether to activate drafting or analysis tools to provide the most relevant output.
When using Intelligent mode to draft documents, Paxton will focus on creating comprehensive, longer-form legal documents. If you prefer specific updates to clauses or a shorter response, try switching to Drafting mode.
Benefits:
Saves time by automatically selecting the most appropriate function.
Reduces the complexity of operating multiple tools.
2. Drafting Mode: The Drafting Mode focuses exclusively on generating and refining document drafts. Use this mode when you want to create new documents or modify existing templates based on specific instructions or data inputs.
Use Case:
Inputting contractual terms and having the Assistant generate a complete contract draft.
Modifying an existing document by incorporating new clauses or updating terms.
Benefits:
Enhances document creation efficiency.
Ensures consistency and accuracy in legal drafts.
3. Analysis Mode: The Analysis Mode is tailored for users who need to dissect and understand documents. It provides detailed insights into your uploads, such as identifying key clauses, comparing documents, or answering specific queries about the content.
Use Case:
Analyzing the differences between two contracts.
Extracting and summarizing important information from a large batch of documents.
Benefits:
Deepens your understanding of document contents.
Quickly identifies and highlights critical information.
To maximize the capabilities of the AI Assistant, consider the specific needs of your task and select the mode that best suits your objective. The Assistant is designed to be flexible, allowing you to switch between modes as needed within the same session. Critically Evaluate AI-Generated Results: Although AI systems like Paxton deliver comprehensive legal information, it's essential to critically examine the outcomes.
