Open Paxton AI and select the 'Combined Research' option from the sidebar menu.
Start a new search or continue an existing query from your chat history.
Select Jurisdictions: Choose from federal, state, or combined options. For state-specific searches, you can also include related federal laws, such as district and appellate courts.
Specify Date Range: Adjust the date range for case laws to refine your search results.
Type your legal query into the search bar. Be specific to maximize the relevance of search results.
Paxton AI will display results from both statutory laws and case laws that are pertinent to your query.
For each result, you'll see a brief summary and a link to the full document.
Click on 'Cited References' to see statutory citations and cases that reference your search results.
Use the 'Analyze Case' option to get a deeper understanding of how each cited case relates to your query.
Select individual cases or statutes to view detailed analyses and historical citations.
Explore the context in which each document has been cited across various legal proceedings.
The system updates regularly, so keep checking back for the most current legal standards and interpretations.
Verify AI Insights: While Paxton AI provides a powerful tool for legal research, always corroborate AI-generated conclusions with manual research or expert consultation.
Multiple Tabs for Efficiency: You can open multiple tabs of Paxton AI to conduct parallel searches without losing data from other sessions.
Email Notifications: If you opt for an in-depth case analysis, Paxton AI may take time to process the information. Check your email for notifications from hello@paxton.ai, including in your spam folder, for updates on your requests.
