Understanding Confidence Levels

The Confidence Indicator categorizes the reliability of responses into three levels: Low, Medium, and High. This system allows you to quickly gauge the trustworthiness of the information provided by Paxton.

Low Confidence Response

  • Scenario: A vague query about family law involving jurisdictions in PA and NYC.

  • Query: "I need to understand family law. I am working on a serious matter. It is very important to my client. The matter is in PA and NYC. Custody issue."

  • Outcome: Paxton provided relevant cases but indicated low confidence due to the lack of specific details and clear jurisdictional focus.

Medium Confidence Response

  • Improved Query: After adding more details about the divorce and custody specifics, including the states involved.

  • Query: "I am working on a family law matter that may implicate both NY and PA law. Mother and father are getting divorced. They live in NY in the summer and PA during the school year. The parents are having a custody dispute. I am representing the father."

  • Outcome: The response’s confidence improved to medium, although it still lacked a specific, focused question.

High Confidence Response

  • Refined Query: By removing unnecessary details and asking specific, directed questions about the custody considerations in both NY and PA.

  • Query: "I am working on a family law matter that may implicate both NY and PA law. Mother and father are getting divorced, they have two children aged 12 and 15. What do courts in New York consider when determining custody? What do courts in Pennsylvania consider when determining custody? Please separate the analysis into two parts, NY and PA."

  • Outcome: This query received a high confidence level, indicating strong reliability of the response.

Tips for Maximizing the Effectiveness of the Confidence Indicator

  • Provide Detailed Context: The more specific your query, the higher the likelihood of receiving a high-confidence response.

  • Select Appropriate Jurisdictions: Ensure the jurisdictions selected align with the details of your legal issue.

  • Ask Focused Questions: Avoid broad queries. Instead, ask pointed questions relevant to your case.
